Scenarios on How you will use the software.

 

Below are listed the situations you will

 

In general you will use the backup and restore buttons on the options screen.

 

 

For subscription management the approach is

 

1. Backup- choose 1 (or more) reports to backup the subscriptions. For each report selected there will be created an Excel file in mirroring the folder structure on the SSRS server to a disk or file share.

2. Modification of subscriptions- Once the excel file is created you can amend the subscriptions-add, delete, modify the subscriptions. Changes to the subscriptions can also include the parameter names. The Excel file is then saved.

3. Restore subscriptions- select which reports you want to restore (or append more subscriptions to) the program will upload the subscriptions from the Excel file.

 

 

 

Backup and Restore of current subscriptions

To backup and restore current subscriptions this will be used in the following situations

 

DR situation

migrating subscriptions to other reports.

Copying subscriptions from one report to another assuming the parameters are the same for 2 reports.
